Nature Conservation
The Nature Park. Use it. Protect it.
The High Alps Nature Park Zillertal Alps connects the wild high mountain nature, the traditionally cultivated landscape and the economic area in the rear Zillertal. Characterized by mountain farming and alpinism, the high mountain nature park is a recreational area you can touch. Protecting nature is the basis for sustainable use of this valuable habitat.
The aim here is use sustainable management practices to preserve the man-made cultural and agricultural landscape in all its diversity and individual traditional characteristics. At the same time, it's important to safeguard pristine Nature yet untouched by humans by providing natural and near-natural habitats and using appropriate measures to protect such areas from negative influences. However, "protection" in this context does not mean non-action or isolation, rather an emphasis is here put on the protection availed by active usage of the resources to be protected. The core basis of the "High Mountain Nature Park of the Zillertal Alps" is the "Ruhegebiet Zillertaler and Tuxer Hauptkamm" (Zillertal Alpine Protected Area).
